Crazy Movie

Alright, if you are looking for a crazy movie, look no further than Bad Taste by Director Peter Jackson. This is a crazy movie that was also his first feature film.

However, what makes Bad Taste one crazy movie is just how hilarious and somewhat grotesque it is. It has several gags that will make you laugh your head off and yet it is supposedly scary. This crazy movie had me in stitches in one particular scene involving one of the actors and the nest of a seagull. You will see what I mean.

I decided to start with Bad Taste as a crazy movie because it encompasses everything that a crazy movie should have. Filled with crazy make up effects, gags and a plot that is right out of a crazy science fiction book, you should be more than entertained.

BAD TASTE PIC 1This is not a crazy movie for the squeamish though. There is a lot to barf at here if you have a weak stomach.

The Premise
Four special agents for a covert group is dispatched to a small village after a distress call from one of the village’s inhabitants. Upon arrival they discover the reason why the inhabitants of the village have all disappeared. A master race of aliens who intend to use the humans as fast food for an intergalactic fast food chain are hot at work when these valiant agents arrive at the village. Needless to say, a fight between good and evil ensues as the survival of humanity hangs on the balance.

The premise is ridiculous let’s face it. But if the premise was anything but ridiculous, this wouldn’t be a crazy movie would it?

A shout out to Peter Jackson who had two roles in this goo-fest. He played the role of the hero Derek and also played one of the aliens. Both were equally insane performances that left me wondering if Jackson’s good guy character was actually more terrifying than the aliens themselves. Bad Taste has got to be a crazy movie because it literally is crazy. The plot unfolds so disjointedly that you almost wonder whether you are watching a movie or a choppy video game from the golden age. There is no doubt that you will be left as tongue tied as I was in certain scenes. There is one in particular that simply defied the laws of physics. But I ponder too seriously after all, this is a crazy movie in which case it is permitted to stretch reality in no uncertain terms.

Bad TaSTE PIC 2 Bad Taste does leave a bad taste in your mouth. You start wondering if you have some sort of mental issues having sat through this movie. It’s even worse when you realize that in some demented fashion, you actually enjoyed it. I found that I needed to brush my teeth after watching this movie and threw in some mouthwash for good measure. The truth is that this crazy movie is so demented that you may even consider a cold shower as well. I truly debated whether I wanted one but I figured that the toothpaste and mouthwash were enough. So why did I feel like this? Well, Peter Jackson truly doesn’t hold back in showing his audience just how much of a demented crazy movie he can make. When you think that he will let up and leave something to the imagination, he goes even further dragging us kicking and screaming into his demented world of blood, gore and more gore and yes, puke as well. There is no limit to how far he will take us and I honestly felt as though he was trying to see just how far he could push us before we either passed out, puked our guts out or simply gave in to our inner sickness.

If you are looking for a crazy movie, Bad Taste will most definitely fit the bill.
